Monica Hapsari was born on December 7th 1983 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Currently, she is a part time illustrator, part time fashion stylist and a full time wonderer.

                In 2002 she joined Institut Teknologi Bandung as a student, majoring in Kria Tekstil. There, she finally realized her purpose in life is to create, create and create. Early 2007 she went through as a semi finalist for the Lomba Perancang Mode Femina and in the same year she joined GADIS Magazine, Femina Group as an in-house fashion and beauty stylist. There she had her early encounter with the Indonesia’s fashion industry through teen fashion journalism and organizing event such as the annual Jakarta Fashion Week. At that time she also had her first ever illustration work published in the GADIS Annual Edition 2007. This edition later on win the “7th Asia Media Award” that was held in Macau, China for “Best Design and Illustration for Magazine over 50.000 Exemplare” category. She then had a deeper understanding about fashion industry when she joined the noted fashion magazine, A+ as an in-house fashion stylist. Later on in 2009 she held her first group exhibition with hand-sewn beads paintings in Ruang Rupa, Jakarta.

                 Monica Hapsari is now working as a freelance fashion stylist, illustrator and visual artist with hand-crafted paintings. Her hand-drawing style, styling and writing had been published in many magazines also for several high end clients. She understand life is just too short to be thrown away on a passionless life. To live is to create, and to create is to honour the true core of universe itself.
